The Washington Wizards are trading Kristaps Porzingis to the Boston Celtics in a three team deal that sends Marcus Smart from the Celtics to the Memphis Grizzlies


The Celtics acquire the 25th pick in the 2023 NBA draft and a 2024 first round pick from the Grizzlies

The Wizards get Tyus Jones from the Grizzlies, and Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala from the Celtics

In addition to Smart, the Grizzlies get the Celtics' 35th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft

NBA Free Agency officially begins today at 6:00 PM ET.

The new Collective Bargaining Agreement goes into effect tomorrow, July 1, 2023, and lasts through June 30, 2030.

Teams and players can begin negotiating and reaching deals today, but cannot officially sign those deals until July 6, 2023 at 12:01 PM ET.

Summary:
June 30 - Free agency begins
July 1 - New CBA goes into effect
July 6 - Deals may be officially signed
