The Denver Nuggets are trading Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a 2031 first round draft pick and a 2032 second round pick from the Cavs and Julian Reese from the Washington Wizards. The Cavaliers are also sending Max Strus to the Los Angeles Clippers and Tre Mann to the Washington Wizards and receiving a 2027 second round pick from the Clippers and Cam Whitmore from the Wizards
As a result of its investigation into the Los Angeles Clippers over compensation to Kawhi Leonard that circumvented league rules, the NBA is stripping the Clippers of five consecutive first round draft picks starting in 2029. Team owner Steve Ballmer will be suspended for one year from all team and league activities. The Clippers President of Business Operations Gillian Zucker will be suspended for one year. Clippers President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank will be suspended for six months. Kawhi Leonard will be required to pay $700,000 in restitution. His uncle will be banned from all NBA-related business dealings.
