The New York Knicks will play the Charlotte Hornets at 6:00 PM ET
The Hornets defeat the 110-96
With the Raptors defeating the Nets, the Hawks losing to the Heat, and the Magic losing to the Celtics, the Knicks will play the Hawks in the first round of the playoffs.
Point of clarification:
When you have a three team tie, the top of that trio is determined first by a division winner, and then second by the head to head matchup. In a scenario where all three teams above would've been tied (Raptors win, Hawks lose, Magic win), the Hawks would be the only division winner in that group, being the winner of the Southeast division. That would automatically place them as the fifth seed. The Raptors would've been the sixth seed because they have the head to head advantage over the Magic, and the Magic would've been seventh. But because the Magic lost, there was no three way tie, just a two way tie between the Hawks and the Raptors. Two way ties are determined by the winner in the two teams' head to head matchups throughout the season. In this case, the Raptors have won the head to head matchup against the Hawks this season, and so the Raptors get the 5 seed, where they'll face the Cavaliers, and the Hawks go down to the 6 seed, where they'll face the Knicks.
